Durr is currently executing a significant capital project for Entergy Louisiana at the NOPS Michoud site as a subcontractor to Burns & McDonnell and Cajun Constructors. The Entergy NOPS Unit 1 project consists of installing the surcharge for the new 128MW gas-fired electrical generation plant. Other major scopes included the installation of a 12” drainage blanket of coarse concrete sand below the surcharge to assist with the effectiveness of the 28,000 wick drains. Durr also installed the laydown yard for the project, utilizing direct barge shipments of 610 limestone base. In additional to the above-mentioned scopes, Durr constructed new construction access roads, temporary fencing and demolition and removal of the existing subsurface drainage piping and catch basins.
