Durr is working with the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) and VergesRome Architects on the former B.W. Cooper housing site located in Central City, New Orleans. For this $2.2M project, Durr is demolishing existing slabs and parking lots along with a complete soil remediation of approximately the first two feet of soil on the entire project site. Sixty thousand tons of existing soil material will be removed by Durr and brought to an authorized disposal site and the remediated areas will be replaced with fifty thousand yards of backfill material. Durr will also perform electrical upgrades to the remaining buildings along with providing new fencing and grass seeding for the site, which will be used for future developments on the property.
