Durr Heavy Construction recently completed its phase of the construction of the new St. James Parish Hospital project in Lutcher. A project made possible by an $18 million rural development loan to the parish from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

For this 55,500 square foot structure, basic site clearing, excavating and fill work were all part of the project. A retention pond and a control structure were built along with a storm drainage system. Sand and crushed limestone were used for base material for the roadways and parking areas.

This extremely successful project in Lutcher was finished on-time and $160,000 under budget.
