Durr Distributes Holiday Goodness

HARAHAN, LA (December 18, 2009) –

For over 25 years, Durr Heavy Construction has given holiday baskets to its employees and the first responders in Harahan.

These baskets; complete with a 24 pound turkey, vegetables and fruit; were chosen as a symbol of Durr’s appreciation for all their employees and the first responders do for the community over the year.

Holiday Baskets“It is just a small token of our thanks to the members of the local fire and police departments,” said Freddy Yoder, president, Durr Heavy Construction.

“I don’t know who enjoys it more, us or them,” said Sidney ‘Cooky’ Ordoyne, Durr’s Equipment Manager and organizer of this annual event. “The guys and I enjoy giving a little something back to public servants in the neighborhood.”

Started by Edward Durr many years ago as a way to ensure no one did without during the holidays, the baskets have become a highlight for both the givers and receivers.
